Disarm

Certain things leave marks. Scars that you'll have for the rest of your life. Those things are the hardest to talk about. We manage pain in our own way. We pretend like nothing's wrong. We laugh. We do stupid things. Or we run. We hide. We build walls. We deliberately shut down. And then, there are the ones who help people get up. Who make you feel safe and put a smile on your face. What most of us don't realise it's that those are hurt too. Those are in pain and do suffer, but their way of coping with it is by hiding it. By pretending that things didn't happen that way.

There are the kind of people who don't like to talk about their life. They'd rather stay in the dark and play ghost, than confront their problems. They put on a mask, paint a smile on their face and hope no one else sees through. They don't like to share their problems with anyone, because they don't like answering personal questions. Then, there are the ones who feel better as soon as they share their problems with the world. As soon as they let it all out, they know that any problem has a solution.

Even though most of the time they're quite and don't talk about things, there comes a time when they've got no weapon left. So they need to talk. They need to make themselves heard but not judged. They need to stop supporting others and start to lean on someone who they are able to trust. They would kill for a pitiful talk over how messy things got lately or a simple and out of the blue hug. They would kill for a shoulder to cry on.

Sometimes all you want is a drink. Sometimes, all you need is a friend. Sometimes, all you need is a friend with a drink who wants to have a heart to heart talk.
